The best Sunday lunch ever, so good you won't get in unless you book
We visited at the end of the season and it felt like the whole place needed a refresh. It's in a good location but that doesn't justify the relatively high rate. Facilities need updating.
Very nice. Love the food. Can seem a bit cramped when busy but overall it's warm and cosy.
Warm and welcome greeting on arrival continues in the clubhouse , food is well priced , tasty and great portion sizes with home cooked meals available. Pitches are ok but need to be better defined as our new neighbours were given a different interpretation of the boundaries to us and their caravan is 6ft away from the side of our tent (3ft from guy lines) and the other side of them is 20ft away ! Lots of open spaces for kids to play if lazy people dont drive to the toilet/ shower block and park on the grass . Some large groups during our stay with the associated loud music and singing / voices but well controlled by park warden (security on a bike ) and anything he isnt around for you can ring the mobile number clearly displayed on the camping shop .JC is the friendly face of camping area and usually around should you have a question or problem . Toilet blocks are serviced about 4 times a day and the block adjacent to us is fairly new and in good working order .
Just come back from a lovely weekend in Herston Caravan site. It was a bit busy because of the bank holiday but we were very grateful that we got in as the other campsites were full. Lovely people and beautiful views you can hear the steam train pass every now and then.
