Would definitely recommend this bar, amazing food, staff very welcoming and lovely wine and beers too!
As always a most excellent evening complimented by good wine and food followed by a vinyl dance evening.
Nice food - nice wines too... overall lovely, but I have to say it's all a bit dated - the place has a great atmosphere, and just needs some TLC, - each fourth week of the month, Tawnys plays host to some retro vinyl, which is sometimes interesting, and always good fun - there's other competitors in Swanage now, so updated ideas need to be thought of..! Still a great night though.
Having read the sign on the door saying that they were open 18:30 til late we went in to order a glass of wine each after dinner. It was 10pm on a Saturday and there were 3 of us. We asked for wine menus and sat down. A lady came to take our order and when we said we werent ready told us that they werent open for much longer (so basically order or leave). So unimpressed by this. We ended up going to budgens and buying a bottle of wine and going home. We only had one night out in the town and this totally ruined our experiences. Not at all when Id expect from a wine bar and certainly not on a Saturday night. Service left a lot to be desired.
Brilliant place. Always accommodates the vaguries of elderly customer & gluten free companion. Super food, served by vy friendly waitress & chef. Only place to go back n Swanage when its open. Want to go in evening
