I know someone who has been to this school and he told me that it was very boring with not a lot of independent students to talk and the staff are poorly trained and they follow u around even if u are independent and u have to prove to them that u can be one things get stolen and eduction is very weak.
This is horrible place with poor trained staff. If you care about your child, don't send them here.
When I chose Purbeck View School for my child, I had no idea that I was being duped. The glossy brochure, the shiny exterior and the sales patter were convincing and we bought it hook, line and sinker. It swiftly came to light that what you see and what you are told is not what you can expect. I urge you to look deep if you are considering this school for your vulnerable child. I urge you to read every word of the "adequate" OFSTED report it received. Restraining students, putting them in rooms and holding the door shut so they can't get out if they are in distress. A lack of monitoring and supervision. A young man removed in handcuffs by the police are just a few of the events that occurred.In terms of the education side, it is adequate. In terms of the care side, it is wildly inadequate bordering on dangerous. Staff are poorly trained and are not paid enough to care. I would not entrust my child to the staff at this school.
I was often pinned down especially when staff forced me to wear winter clothing. I was not allowed a same sex staff member administering my meds, I even had a male member of staff apply cream to me. My meds were often withheld and the staff refused to give me and/or apply my creams. I was victimized by staff and pupils. I wasn't allowed a camera or a mobile phone. Staff kept discontinuing my creams. Staff trimmed pupils' nails barehanded. When I went to a b'day party, everyone was allowed chips except for me. I had a vegetarian staff member confiscate my meat burger. She forced me to eat a cucumber instead (which I didn't like) At chip shops we were only allowed small chips. I was banned from the IT room and going out several times. Staff refused to serve me cake just because I had refused to wear a coat. Staff wear a uniform and the night staff's 2-way radio's often wake the pupils up. I was not allowed to mention my obsessions. There are sometimes no latex-free gloves in units yet there are students and/or staff allergic to latex. I wasn't allowed sun cream as my skin wasn't sensitive. Sometimes they left me without a female member of staff when the only female member of staff went for her break.You can't type in Arsenal or Middlesex or youtube into the school's computer-it gets blocked. We could only print no more than 2 pieces per day. I often got hurt by the pupils requiring a body check to be done by 2 female staff members whilst I am naked in the bathroom
i used to be in this school and i hated it the staff are ignorent it is stupid and plus if you are going to work there they ont pay you enough so there. and if you are a kid you will be restrained if you get angry so there it is a horrible school dont put your child here. what ever you do. the staff are not nice there. the head teacher is the worst. my ratings of this school is 1/10.
