Had a custom wedding ring made and engraved. Exceeded expectations and so well priced. Couldn't recommend more!
I was so disappointed when I visited my mother yesterday to hear of her experience at Macrow & Son. We have been long term customers with Mr Macrow but it seems that the service from "Son" is far removed from the service his father provided. My mother, a pensioner, had a piece of jewellery repaired less than a month ago and since the repair has broken. Having taken the piece back into the store on Friday she was received by "Son" who told her that break was due to something that she must have done and was not his responsibility to fix again!!! He adamantly refused to fix something that must have been a weak addition on his part. This is so ridiculous as a soldered piece has broken which obviously means that the solder was weak and not able to cope with the daily use it is meant for, probably a manufacturing fault but certainly nothing to do with the client and the sit is the vendors reponsibility. He was so rude and dismissive to my mother that she now feels intimidated to even walk past the front of the shop!!! They took money for a repair, repaired something with a faulty clasp and now refuse to fix something that is without doubt their responsibility. No excuse for being rude and dismissive to any customer let alone a pensioner and for something that is so meagre. I will contact trading standards about this, having personally dealt with Mr Macrow when I had a house in Swanage who was laways very pleasant i'm sure he would be appalled at the the way his son has treated a client in this incident. Do not bother there are plenty of other friendly and responsible jewellers locally.
What a gem of a jewellers. We have been using them since 1999. We are based in Oxfordshire and travel whenever we need to purchase jewellery wether its for us or as a gift. They have always been so helpful and never rushed us into a decision and always good a suggesting ideas for gifts. Can't rate them highly enough.
I have purchased a few pieces of jewellery from Macrow & Son over the years and they have all been of excellent quality. My engagement ring also came from their shop so it seemed natural to see what they had in the way of wedding rings on our next visit! Corrinne was incredibily helpful in helping my fiance and I choose our rings. She was enthusiastic, fun and gave us great advice which made the whole experience memorable and enjoyable. Macrow & Son has some lovely pieces of jewellery to suit all tastes and pockets and the customer service is second to none!!
